Kathleen Miller's Obituary
Kathleen Miller, age 68, of Conyers, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026. She was born on March 3, 1958, in Williamsburg County, South Carolina, to the late Leroy Miller, Jr. and the late Susie Mae Miller.
Kathleen lived a life marked by dedication, professionalism, and care for others. She built a distinguished career in administrative leadership and office management, serving for 27 years with the Atlanta Housing Authority. Through her strong work ethic, reliability, and exceptional organizational skills, she earned the respect and appreciation of colleagues and leadership alike.
Kathleen began her tenure with Atlanta Housing (AH) in 1998 as an Administrative Assistant in Real Estate Development and Acquisition. Over the years, her talent and commitment led to increasing responsibilities, including serving as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Chief Real Estate Officer, and later promoted to Executive Assistant to the then President and CEO. In 2020, through her hard work and dedication, Kathleen was promoted to Homeownership Program Manager, and most recently, she was promoted to Director of Homeownership Services and Development. In her Homeownership role, she managed the day-to-day operations, coordinated and held training sessions for her team, prepared reports and presentations, and provided vital administrative leadership for the Homeownership Program with discretion and excellence. She managed and supervised her team members to also exemplify and deliver excellence. She believed in the mission of AH and the people they served.
Before joining Atlanta Housing, Kathleen worked with Realty Management Corporation (The Lane Company), New York University, and Metropolitan Life Insurance. In these roles, she provided administrative and operational support, demonstrating the same dedication, attention to detail, and professionalism that would define her entire career.
Kathleen earned her high school diploma with an emphasis in Business Administration and Accounting and furthered her studies in Business Administration through the School of Continuing Education at New York University. She was also a commissioned Notary Public.
Outside of her professional life, Kathleen enjoyed cooking, traveling, especially cruising, and loved spending time going to casinos. She cherished opportunities to relax, explore new places, and enjoy life’s simple pleasures with family and friends.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents: Leroy Miller, Jr. and Susie Mae Miller; her sisters: Deloris Miller, Libby Miller, and Emily Miller; and her nephew: Kevin Miller.
Kathleen was a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved son, Ronnie Miller of Conyers, GA; goddaughter, Emily Green of Indian Land, SC; sisters: Diane (Promise) Amachree of Fresno, CA, Cynthia (Robert) Miller, Carrie Lisa Miller, Bernadette Miller, and Tracey (Michael) Miller, all of New York, NY; brother: Leon (Christine) Miller of Lyman, SC. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, co-workers and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Kathleen will be remembered for her strength, reliability, and warm spirit. Her life touched many, and her legacy of dedication, love, and perseverance will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
