Willie Bell "Penny" Shepherd's Obituary
Willie Bell "Penny" Shepherd was born on March 27, 1944 in Fulton County, Ga to the parents of the late Willie L. Harper and the late Lillie Jane Lester- Jackson. Penny received her education through J.P.Carr in Conyers, Ga. As Penny began to grow into adulthood she met the "love of her life" the late Brother Lemar Shepherd and in 1962 to this union four children were born: three boys and one girl, Terry L., Tamara D "Punkin," Phillip J "Phil," and Orlando "Pint" Shepherd all of Lithonia, Ga. Penny was a dedicated employee to several different companies. Just to name a few, Lithonia Lighting, DeKalb County School system, Smyrna Presbyterian Church of Conyers, GA and Roberts Soul Food Restaurant. In May of 2019, Penny fully retired from the workforce due to sickness and minor illness. She was a member of the Second Shady Grove Baptist Church for most of her life until the lord spoke to her to join the Crawfordville Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor George Levett Jr. and later served under Pastor Andrew C. Doyle and was presently serving under the leadership of Pastor Jonathan Bennett where she served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee.
Penny was preceded in death by her husband the late Brother Lemar Shepherd.
Her memory will be cherished and treasured by her four children: Terry L, Tamara D "Punkin," Phillip J "Phil," Orlando "Pint" Shepherd. One sister, Ms. Agnes L. "Mome" Smith, one brother Mr. Willie L Harper Sr., one sister- in- Law Mrs. Mattie Mae Shepherd- Burnett, and one brother -in- law Mr. Henry L Shepherd "Melvin."
(10) Grand children: Mr. and Mrs. Chantae' Mays (Anthony), Erica Ferrell, Britini Henderson, Anthony "Mann" Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. BraSheia "Sheia" Shepherd- Winslow (Joseph), Mrs. And Mrs. Breyuna "Bre" Shepherd-Owens (Jakeyha), Alexcia "Nene" Shepherd, Antoreo' "Tore" Henderson, DeAngelo "Dee" McCoy, and Alaylah "Bug" Shepherd.
