Mr. Willie Robert Powell, Sr. was born, June 17, 1953 to the late Fannie Ruth Pressley in Conyers, Ga.
Willie Robert was a member of Salem Bible Church in Atlanta, Georgia under Reverend Jasper Williams, Jr.
Willie Robert was happily united in matrimony to the unwavering O'Leavy Mitchell Powell. Together they are the proud parents of five children; Michael Mitchel (Lil Mike), Clarence Brown (Fro) Tonya Brown, Willie Powell, Jr. (Bug), De'Andre Powell (Hump).
Willie Robert was a very skilled and dedicated employee in the paving industry for more than 30 years. His loyalty and expertise were zealously applied at Bankhead and C & S Paving Company. Willie Robert was a stellar employee, a master Tack Distributor, Spreader and Mortar Grader.
Willie Robert was many things to many people but above all he was a devoted family man. He was an earnest provider for his family.
Willie Robert was the family guardian and comedian. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He liked to entertain.
Willie Robert was a pillar in the community. He was also a mason.
Mr. Willie Robert Powell leaves to cherish fond memories; his loving wife of 46 years Mrs. O'Leavy Powell, four sons; Michael Mitchell, Clarence Brown, Willie Powell, Jr. and De'Andre Powell, one daughter; Tonya Brown, three sisters; Sally Powell, Martha "Ann" Carter, Joann Pressley, five sister-in-laws, one brother in-law, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
