Billie" Smith was born on April 10. 1937 to the late George "Tommie" Wright and Helen Hopkins. He was reared in Eastman, Georgia. He attended Peabody High School. He married Mattie D. Coleman in 1956 and moved his family to Hudson, New York in 1962. He worked for Atlas Cement in Hudson New York. He is preceded in death by a daughter; Geraldine Smith, brother; Willie Lee Edwards, Everett Wright, Earnest Wright, Carnell Wright Carl Wright, George T Wright. Sisters; Evelyn W. Gordon, Lizzie Wright Fowlero, Bertha Wright and Carol W. Maddox. He leaves to mourn a devoted wife Mattie Coleman Smith, Sons; Willie C Smith Jr, (Melanie), Ronald Smith, John L, Smith (Sarah), all of Atlanta, Ga. Billy "Wayne" Smith, Poughkeepsie, NY. and Clancy "Tyrone" Smith, Atlanta, Ga. Daughters; Helen Gordan (Leonard) Lisa Smith, Antionette Smith, all of Poughkeepsie, New York, and Shea Smith of North Carolina. Twenty four grandchildren Thirty-three Great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Brothers; Col. Napolean Wright, Earl Wright, Ga. Sisters; Louise Dixson of Poughkeepsie N.Y. Vivian W. Ponder, Mildred Cooper, Beverly Wright, Brenda F. Stewart, Brenda Herron, and Sheila Bryant all of GA.
