William James Jackson's Obituary
William J Jackson AKA Sonny was born on November 6, 1943, in Yazoo MS. to David Jackson and Blanche Leavy. On Sunday April 17, 2022, our dear beloved William was called home to be with the lord.
William spent most of his adulthood in OH before moving to GA. William served in the United States Army and worked at General Motors until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, meditation, and your occasional starch off tickets. If ever you needed advice, Will was your guy. If you didn't need advice Will was your guy. He was an amazing man that overcame many obstacles resulting in a role of leadership which afforded him to share his life experiences.
William was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, and mentor. William is preceded in death by his brother David Jackson, mother Blanche Smith, stepfather Emith Smith, son Kenneth Jackson, grandson Gregory Smith Jr.
William leaves to cherish his memories his wife Veronica Jackson, his children Errol Smith, Gregory Smith, Sherman Jackson, Latasha Matlock, and Shanna Jackson. His grandchildren Shadaymona Jackson, Vancey Jackson, Antwanett Jones, Aiden Demps, and Alek Demps. As well as several close relatives and friends.
