Victoria Gadson's Obituary
Victoria Gadson was born March 26th, 1938, in Beaufort South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Geneva Freeman (Tiny), of Charleston S.C. Victoria was the 2nd oldest of 9 children. As one of the oldest children she was affectionately known as Vick and had the privilege of being raised and reared not only by God-fearing parents, but her great grandparents Caesar and Annie Evans, the grandparents of Tiny.
She was educated at Beaufort County Training School and graduated from College of Walterboro South Carolina as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Vick worked for over 25 years at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Healthcare was her passion. She wore many career hats all throughout her life. She was well known and deeply loved throughout her community.
She loved serving the Lord. She attended Huspah Baptist church in Gardens Corner S.C. She was a devoted member and served faithfully on the usher board. Vick sang in the choir and cherished praising the Lord. Additionally, she served on several committees and always enjoyed helping others. But what she loved the most was her relationship with the Lord.
Vick had many hobbies including planting in her garden, attending to her flower bed, baking, and sewing. "Let's Go To The country" the family would say! Where family and friends would have a huge cookout in Vick's front yard laughing, dancing and just doing whatever makes them happy.
Vick was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Nathan Gadson (Dodgy) on Nov 18th, 1956 and they were married for 22 years. This couple was blessed with 6 children - Jacqueline Scott of Garden Corner S.C, Bernard Gadson of Atlanta G.A, (late) Mary Gadson, Millicent Williams of Atlanta G.A, Nathan Alfonzo jr. and Sheila Gadson of Prince George's M.D, and Rodney Gadson of Charleston S.C.
Siblings: Elijah Jane Evans, Marion Evans, (Late)Richard Evans, Marie Freeman, Earlene Harold, Dorothy Ann Wiggins, Brenda, (Late) Roy Evans, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin's other relatives and many friends.
