VALISIA DECHELE FLANIGAN's Obituary
Valisia Dechele Flanigan was born March 28,1968 to Calvin and Veronica Flanigan in Conyers, Georgia; she was the first born of 3 girls. She departed this life to be with her heavenly father in heaven on January 26,2024 in Conyers Ga. Valisia was educated in the Rockdale County School system from Heritage High School in 1990 in Conyers, Ga and graduated from Brenae College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. After graduating she danced in New York with Ballethnic and trained with Alvin Ailey and continued her dance training in Atlanta with the Atlanta School of Ballet. Shortly after she joined her mother Dr. Veronica Flanigan in opening Anointed Dance Steps Academy. She was also an instructor at Peeks Chapel for a number of years. The youth was her top priority and she loved teaching the youth. She then free lanced to numerous studios and youth centers to teach dance to the community. Valisia adored her nieces and nephews and students very much, they were always her top priority. Lisa shined a big light on her dance community and family. She was a strong woman of faith. Valisia began her Christian journey at an early age at Crawfordville and Peeks Chapel Baptist Church. She had a heart of gold and loved to serve and minister in dance to the community. Lisa had a big heart and loved her friend's, family and students. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Dr. Veronica Flanigan, her loving grandparents Rev. Aaron and Fanny Lester and Clearance and Etta Sue Flanigan; and uncles, Harold Flanigan, Clerance Flanigan Jr., Larry J. Lester and aunts, Shasta Flanigan Franklin and aunt Angela D. Lester and Nephew, Donnell R. Smith. Valisia leaves her memories to her father Captain Calvin Flanigan and loving sisters, Erin Flanigan Young and Monica Flanigan; nieces and nephews, Aliya Smith, Joseph Love Jr., Joshiah Love, Maxx Young Jr., Jaydon love, Nylah Young, Isaiah Young and Elijah Young and her great nieces and nephews, Amiah Smith, Taliya Smith, Tamari Smith and Tavaris Smith Jr., whom she loved very much and a host of cousin's friends and colleagues.
