Mrs. Shirley Ann Carter, age 74, Covington, Georgia, passed away, Saturday, May 8, 2021.
Shirley was born on September 25, 1946 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter to the late Mr. and Mrs. Isiah and Pearl Grier.
Shirley moved to Covington, Georgia as a young child, and was raised around many of her cousins and other relatives. Shirley graduated from R.L. Cousins High School.
Shirley married Larry Carter. The marriage was blessed with four children, Barry, Anita, Otanya, and Lorenzo.
Cooking was her passion along with going to church as she loved having family and friends around. But above all Shirley loved shopping.
Shirley had a knack for connecting with people and she touched many lives. She worked at Walmart for 28 years and loved on everyone she came in contact with. She knew how to pool resources and apply them to help people. Her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her.
Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her brother, Marvin Grier.
She is survived by her four loving children: Son, Barry Carter, of Covington, Georgia; daughter, Anita Carter, Otanya Black; Son, Lorenzo Carter, Bonus children Terrance Freeman and Tina Carter; 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Brian, Wesley, Alisa, Chloe, Niesha, Brandon, Brittany, Caleb, Asia, Emmanuel and Briana. One Great grandchild Brothers, Lorenzo Grier, George Grier and Calvin Grier; Sister Sarah Grier Harden and relatives and loving friends.
The funeral service to honor the life of Shirley Carter will be eleven o' clock in the morning at George W. Levett and Sons Funeral Home 1299 Milstead Ave Conyers, Georgia.
