Shandon Douglas Shepherd's Obituary
Shandon Douglas Shepherd was born on July 26, 1987 in Richland County, Columbia, South Carolina to Melvin and La Brenda Shepherd. He departed this life on September 15, 2016 at his residence in Conyers, Georgia. Shandon accompanied his military parents on several stateside assignments including Fort Jackson, South Carolina; St Louis, Missouri; Fort Gordon, Georgia; and Decatur, Georgia. During these tours, he met numerous friends and associates that had kept in touch with him over the years. Shandon attended Heritage High School in Conyers, Georgia and the Universal Technical Institute for NASCAR Automotives in Orlando, Florida. Through these affiliations he met a host of lifetime friends that considered him a son, grandson, cousin, big brother, little brother, dad, and confidant they could count on to be there for them when no one else could any time of the day or night. He recently completed an on-line course for helicopter piloting. Shandon leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents and a brother (Gary) from Lubbock, TX, as well a HOST of loyal relatives and friends who loved him dearly and unconditionally. He is also survived by his dedicated and loving family pets, Meistro and Sammi. Shandon's lifetime associates span from the East Coast to the Mid-West; the West Coast to the Gulf Coast, and as far away as China. Shandon thoroughly enjoyed working on vehicles from top to bottom and inside out, from bumper to bumper and rooftop to wheels. His work was admired by so many. Due to his passion for his most recent treasure, a 2010 Camaro SS, he joined a local Camaro Club. Shandon also organized and was the President of 'Universal Camaro Association' which is comprised of over 1500 internet members stateside and internationally. He was internationally known and respected for his passionate dedication to his cause. Everyone that knew him either loved him dearly or disliked him with the equal passion. He was outspoken and determined to make it in spite of his personal limitations. He has made a lasting impression on almost everyone that came into his life and will be greatly missed. His troubled heart was so full of love for his family and friends. Just know that he is finally at peace and no longer suffering from the troubles of this world. Keep his memory alive through your memories of his huge smile and hearty laughter, as well as his loving hugs. There were good times and bad that he endured but he made it for 29 years through these trials and tribulations to a place where he is able to rest in peace. Rest in peace our honorary 'SOLDIER'.
