SAMUEL GEORGE COLLIER, JR's Obituary
Samuel George Collier Jr. was born and raised in Saginaw, Michigan. What he loved to call "The Sag-Nasty." Sam was a very talented man. After he graduated high school, he entered the Marines and later the Army. While in the army he was in combat during the Gulf War. During his time in the service, he became a big track & field and boxing star. After being honorably discharged from the army, he began his new journey. Sam married the love of his life, Sherri, of 33 beautiful years. Soon after, he had his daughter Mikaailah Collier and then his son Shamuel Collier.
Sam was a jack of all trades. There was nothing he didn't know how to do, couldn't do, or wouldn't do, if you asked him. All you had to do was ask...and sometimes you didn't have to. While doing contracting work through the government he later found his passion. Becoming a MSHA Inspector (Mining Safety and Health Administration). During Sam's long journey, he was able to touch and impact the lives of many to this day.
Sam is survived by his beautiful granddaughter, Nahlah Collier (his Nah-Nah) whom he loved dearly. His wife, Sherri Collier; daughter, Mikaailah Collier; son Shamuel Collie; mother, Myrtle Collier; grandmother, Elsie McDaniels; sisters Pamela Collier, Takiyalh Collier; nephew, Tyerk Brown; brother, Reginald Collier; nephew, Reggie Collier Jr.; nephew Reise Collier; bonus mom, Alice Collier; uncle, James Collier, special cousins, nieces, and nephews from the Clark Family, Lee Family, Webb Family, Thomas Family, and other close relatives, too many to be named. Sam was a beloved husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, son, and friend. He loved his family so much and he will truly be missed.
