SALLIE LUE POWELL's Obituary
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Sallie Lue Powell of Conyers, Georgia. Ms. Powell passed on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in Conyers, Georgia.
Sister Sally L. Powell was born May 7, 1951 to the late Fannie Ruth Powell and Willie Lee Lett in Conyers, Georgia.
Sister Sally committed her life to serving the Lord and being a blessing to others. She became a member of Union Springs Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Reverend M.M. Moore. Sister Sally first answered the call to serve as a doorkeeper for the Lord. During her tenure she was a humble and faithful servant. Sister Sally honorably served as President of the Usher Board for more than a decade. She also diligently served on the Pastor's Aide Committee for many years until her retirement.
Sister Sally was a kind, respectful and resolute Christian woman. To her family she was a beacon of love, strength and guidance. Her sacrifices helped shape our journeys in life. To her church family Sister Sally was warmhearted and faithful. She relished in the opportunities to spend time with family and friends. She was always willing to lend a listening ear. One of her best attributes was her adept cooking abilities. She took pride in preparing meals, cakes and pies for her beloved family and friends.
Sister Sally was preceded in death by her parents: Fannie Ruth Powell and Willie Lee Lett, her Grandmothers: Indiana Powell, Cora Lee Lett, (2) sisters: Betty Smith, Fran Pressley, (4) brothers: Mike Powell, Joe "Paul" Pressley, Willie Robert Powell, William "Fred" Pressley.
Sister Sally will forever be cherished in the hearts and minds of her family and friends. She is survived by an adored son: Dwayne Powell (Angela), a revered grandson: Dustin Powell, an admired granddaughter: Deja Powell, (2) unwavering sisters: Martha Ann Carter, Joann Pressley, (2) loving aunts: Betty Lett, Juanita Lett, a devoted niece: Ajile' Pressley and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
