Sadie Ruth Ashby-Bostick's Obituary
Mrs. Sadie Ruth Ashby Bostick was born September 5, 1941, in Covington, Georgia to the late Deacon J.C. & Lillie B Vaughn-Ashby. She was the fifth of 10 siblings. After confessing her faith in Christ at an early age, Mrs. Bostick joined Bethabara Missionary Baptist Church and served for many years. After a six-year courtship, on December 17, 1966, she married the late Deacon Tully J. Bostick, and God added a daughter (Tullie LaRuth) and son (Isaac King) to their union.
Mrs. Bostick was truly a Proverbs 31 Woman who loved Christ, her family and served in her community. In the early years, Mrs. Bostick worked at Lithonia Lighting. Later when her children went to school, she became a Para-Professional at Heard Mixon then Ficquett Elementary School in Covington, Ga. She loved the children in kindergarten and served Newton County Board of Education for over 20 years. Mother Bostick was a faithful and dedicated member of Bethabara Missionary Baptist Church. She served as an Usher, on the Mother Board and Finance Committee. After Retirement, Mrs. Bostick loved working in the garden with Deacon Bostick and making her preserves, chow-chow and pickling pickles. When health and mobility challenges occurred, Mrs. Bostick continued to worship at Living Stone Church of Metro Atlanta and became a mighty prayer warrior with the mothers of the church. Mrs. Bostick believed in finishing strong and completed her earthly journey on Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Mother Bostick was preceded in death by her Husband, Deacon Tully J Bostick and five siblings: Betty D. Webb, Robertine Shepherd, Willie J. Ashby, Lillie A. Hale and Clifford Leon Ashby.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter, Apostle T. LaRuth (Tenny) Hutchinson; one son, Apostle and Pastor Isaac (Jackie) Bostick, Sr.; two grandsons, Mr. Isaiah D. Bostick and Master Isaac King Bostick, II; three sisters, Mary (Augustus) Lett, Janet A. Love, Shirley (Marvin) Williams; one brother, Larry (Sherry) Ashby; five sister-in-law's, Phyllis Ashby, Allonia Moon, Kathryn Williams, Emma Bostick and Margaret Wimberly. A host of nieces, nephew, cousins, other relatives and friends.
