RUBY KATE JOHNSON's Obituary
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Ruby (Rubie) Kate Johnson on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Mrs. Rubie Kate Johnson was born on September 12, 1930 to the late Mr. & Mrs. James and Julia Barber Johnson in Covington, Georgia. Rubie is now united with her late husband, Mr. Edmund Johnson. Mrs. Rubie Kate Johnson and Mr. Edmund Johnson had 12 children from this union.
Mrs. Rubie was employed by Holiday Inn for years. She enjoyed cooking, raising and watching her grandkids.
On December 11, 2023 God called Rubie home, she was preceded in death by her children, Annie Julia (Starling) Bryant, Edmund Johnson, Jr., Idella Johnson, Freddie Lamar Johnson, Ella Johnson, Ethel Mae Johnson, Jessie James Johnson and Johnny Wayne Johnson. Rubie was also preceded in death by 10 sisters and 2 brothers. She leaves to cherish her memories, 2 daughters, Susie Kate Johnson and Karen Lee (Hulon) Benford; 2 sisters, Eula Johnson and Christine Johnson Bolden.
Rubie leaves 24 grandkids, 78 great grandkids, 90 great-great grandkids and 1 great -great-great grandkid. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephew, friends, and a special grand-daughter Jennifer Chester.
