Robert Lee Ballard's Obituary
Robert Lee Ballard, affectionately known as “Bob,” was born on Father’s Day, June 19, 1938, to Martis Oliver Ballard and Christine Omega Ballard. On February 1, 2026, his spirit was peacefully called home to be with the Lord.
Bob spent his early childhood in Akron, Ohio, before relocating with his family to East Point, Georgia at the age of ten. He was a proud graduate of Russell High School in East Point.
Bob dedicated 31 years of faithful service to Delta Air Lines, where he worked as a mechanic and later retired from Ground Support Services as a Foreman. His strong work ethic, reliability, and leadership earned him the respect of colleagues and friends throughout his career.
A devoted husband, father, and man of faith, Bob was a longtime and active member of Conyers First United Methodist Church. He was known for his compassionate spirit and willingness to help anyone in need—always ready to lend a hand to family, friends, or neighbors, simply for the asking.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Norma Ballard of Conyers, Georgia; his daughter, Cyndi Johnson of Conyers, Georgia; his son, Mark Ballard of Loveland, Colorado; and his brother, Irby Ballard of Doraville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother, Oliver Ballard of Phoenix, Arizona, and his sister, Marjorie Ford of Mexico Beach, Florida.
A reception will follow immediately after the service.
Robert Lee Ballard will be remembered for his unwavering faith, generous heart, and lifelong devotion to family, church, and community.
