Robbie Cardine's Obituary
Robbie Cardine was born in Cadiz, KY, on November 16, 1932, to the late Elliott and Robbie Mayes. Robbie was 1 of 13 children born into this union.
Robbie attended Attucks High School located in Hopkinsville, KY. She moved to Louisville, KY, obtained her G.E.D., and met the love of her life, Frank Cardine, Sr. They married and had 6 beautiful children Pamela, Vernetta, Freda, Barry, Frank, and Gloria. She retired from G.E. in Louisville, KY. She eventually moved to Conyers, GA, to reside with her granddaughter, Towanna.
Robbie was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was all about her family and loved each of them in her own special way. She knew how to give them the love and attention that they needed. Robbie's smile and laugh were contagious. Her beautiful smile could light up a room. She knew how to make people feel welcomed in her presence. She was the epitome of grace and class.
Robbie gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Bloomfield Missionary Baptist Church in Cadiz, KY. As an adult, she joined Magazine Street Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Louisville, KY. She not only attended but was an active member and was on the Usher Board, a Deaconess, and the Secretary of Sabbath School for many years. Robbie loved to sing and worship the Lord. She was a member of The Spiritual Five and other singing groups. You could hear her singing around the house, "Walk Around Heaven," "Safe in His Arms," and numerous other songs.
Robbie is preceded in death by her husband Frank Cardine, Sr., daughters Pamela Cooksey, Gloria Cardine, son Barry Cardine, sisters Bertha Turner, Venus Wharton, and brothers Walter Mayes, William Mayes, Elliott Mayes, Jr., and Elliott E. Mayes. She leaves behind to cherish her wonderful memories daughters Vernetta Cardine, Freda Cardine, and son Frank Cardine. 12 Grandchildren Towanna Hogue, Katrina Cardine, Michael Cardine, Shaneka Hardin, Jerry Cardine, Reginald Cardine, Brittany Calvert (Greg), Talia Cardine, Raymond Cardine, Myesha Harbin, Keion Goff, and Alisha Cardine. Sisters Sue Ford, Willie Garnett, Jean (Dan) Thompson, Mary (Thomas) Thompson, Hilda (George) Crump, and Eunice Fletcher, as well as all of her great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Robbie Wright Cardines' funeral service will be held on December 29, 2020 at Burnett Avenue Baptist Church and Internment at Evergreen Cemetery. Both are located in Louisville, KY.
