Richard Lucas' Obituary
Richard Lucas was born December 9, 1950 to Della Mae Lucas in Conyers, Georgia. He received his education and graduated from J.P. Carr High School. He enjoyed playing basketball while attending high school. He later joined the Air Force between 1969-1973. Richard worked at McLean/Yellow Freight Trucking Company for 43 years until his retirement. Richard loved to spoil his daughters, grandkids and his great grandkids. He loved his family and friends to his heart. He enjoyed cooking, playing cards and watching the Atlanta Falcons. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was known as a good man who was genuinely friendly, well respected and was loved in the community. He never met a stranger he wouldn't help.
Richard was preceded in death by his grandmother, Catherine Lucas; grandfather, Charlie Lucas; grandmother, Lelia Floyd Lucas; aunt, Lillie Ruby Allen and great grandson, Milo D. Lucas; siblings, Ronald Butler, Cynthia Hamm and Deborah Butler.
Richard leaves to carry on his legacy a loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Lee-Lucas of 48 years; three daughters, Lisa A Taylor, Shanedra T. Lucas and Shunteria D. Lucas; grandkids, Richard D. Lucas, Thomas J. Smith, Aaliyah C. Lucas, Demondre' M. Smith, Jamyah S. Smith, A'niya D. Lucas, Jacob A. Taylor, Isiah D. Daniel, Heaven A. Lucas, Nehemiah A. Lucas and Nevaeh D. Thompson; great grandkids, Tyler Lucas, A'Keylia Lucas, Tylan Cox, Taylin Cox, Skyler Lucas and Rich Lucas; sisters, Ruby Hale, Rebecca Lucas, Dianne Champion and Judy Lucas; brother, Randy Lucas; Aunt, Clara Floyd Giles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
