Randolph Jones' Obituary
Randolph Jones, Sr. was born on July 20, 1955 in Rockdale County, Ga. to the late Paul and Gertrude Jones, Sr. Randolph was proceeded in death by his siblings, Sarah Jones Forte, Paul Jones, Jr., Eunree Jones Flanagan,and daughter Najwa Renee 'Jones. He felt and heard the calm and special voice of Jesus call him home to rest. Randolph was surrounded by family and friendswhen he made a peaceful transition to his heavenly home Sunday, January 19, 2020.
Randolph joined Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age under the leadership of Rev. G. F. (Gude). He worked as a faithful servant until his passing. Randolph served in various leadership roles, to include Sunday School Superintendent, Trustee Ministry Chairman and Deacon Ministry under the watch of Dr. Rev. Billie Cox-Boyd, Sr. Pastor.
Randolph attended school in Conyers, Ga. He graduated from Rockdale County High School in 1973. He later attended and graduated from DeKalb Technical Institute. Soon after graduation Randolph joined the United States Army. Command Sergeant Major Jones, (CSM) Jones completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training for Cannon Fire Direction Specialist. CSM Jones is a graduate of every NCOES School from the Primary Noncommissioned Officer Course to the United States Sergeant Major Course.
He has performed in every combat leadership position from Section Chief of Artillery Battery Fire Direction Center to the position of a Command Sergeant Major. CSM Jones has received numerous awards and decorations. CSM Jones served in the United States Army for 30 years and retired October 2005.
Randolph met the love of his life Sheila Diane Webb in 1976. They were united in matrimony June 18, 1977. To this union, two children were born; the late Najwa Renee'Jones and Randolph O. Jones II; one adopted son, Terrence Jones. He became guardian parent of his granddaughter Seanna Jacobi Turner after the passing of her mother. Randolph loved his family and cared unconditionally for the apple of his eye-Seanna.
Randolph leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years Sheila Jones, sons, Randolph II and Terrence Jones, granddaughter, Seanna Turner; In-laws' Shirley Saffo, Charlotte (Willie) Zanders, Anthony Webb, Brenda Webb, Belinda Williams, , Donald Webb, nieces and nephews, Special friend Deacon Jerry Hill and a host of relatives and friends.
