Phyllis Jones' Obituary
Our beloved Phyllis Jones was born July 17th 1961 in Atlanta Georgia, to Betty and Willie Jackson. She was a mother,Grandmother, Daughter, sister, Auntie and most importantly she was and still is the heart of our family. Despite being diagnosed with congested heart failure in her late 30's she still made it her business to live her life to its fullest until she took her last breath January 21st 2018. As many of you may know "Mrs Jones" was truly a character and loved you in a way that could not be explained. She deeply loved her family from her loving siblings Michelle Jackson, Beverly Jackson,Nathaniel Jackson and Marvita Jackson to her 4 children Who she would move mountains for, Vicente Jones, destiny Jones, Nehemiah Jones and her baby charity merchant. Despite any obstacles that they may have faced one thing for sure they knew "mama" would be there, because mama always was. And though as tragic as this is, we are blessed with the many memories that we have of her, from her smile that could light up a room, her energetic spirit that you would have thought with her diagnosis would have kept her down, to her sweet and gentle spirit who would give her last (then ask you for it later) lol if you needed it. Today we come to celebrate those memories and many others that each and everyone of us have within our hearts. Phyllis absolutely loved watching her grandchildren marquise Jones, essence Jones, Elijah King,Euriah King, Jaden king, Victoria Jones,Timothy merchant, Mikell Merchant,Aaliyah merchant and great granddaughter Kennedy Jones grow up, she enjoyed going to school events, taking them to the park and one of the things she loved to do most was feed them!! She found joy in anyone enjoying her food but had a special type of joy watching her grandchildren enjoy her meals. In addition to raising her 4 children, she was also a proud veteran of the United States Army and a proud wife to her ex husband Venson jones for 20 plus years. She loved Venson Jones until the day she she took her last breath and always wondered if he was eating good or if he was okay anytime she would hear about any surgeries. Despite them being divorced, she spent her entire life with Venson Jones and as she once stated "I been with one man all my life, I can't help but love him" from high school sweethearts to years of traveling, vacations and raising children together, Phyllis was committed to her family then and up until she passed. That was a big part of her life. Our beloved Mother, grandmother, daughter, Auntie and friend will be dearly missed, and apart of her will forever be embedded into our hearts. We know she is watching over us, she no longer have to worry, she no longer have to deal with the effects of her diagnosis. She is in a place where we all would love to be one day. She is our own personal angel watching over us, as she was when she was here. We love you Phyllis Jones. You definitely left your mark here on earth, enjoy your new life in heaven, in gods will we will all see you again one day. God needed you a little earlier and for your peace we acccept that and will forever cherish you in our hearts.
