Patricia Marlene Hook's Obituary
Born January 28, 1945 the oldest daughter of Marjorie and Lee Andrew Smith in Huachuca, Arizona.
While a young chil the family moved to Manthattan, New York where Patricia attended New York City Public Schools. As a teenager, Pat first attended Jane Adams High School and then graduated from George Washington High School in June of 1963. Patricia worked for a year before attending Hampton Institute (now known as Hampton University.) in Hampton Virginia. She finished her college education at Hunter College in New York City in 1971.
Patricia met and married Richard Manigault. September 3, 1966 after transferring to Hunter College from Hampton Institute. From that union "Pat" helped raise her step-son Richard Manigault before giving birth children Lisa in 1970 and Marc 1975. Pat and Richard divorced in 1986.
Pat worked as Bronx Borough administrator for the New York City Legal Aid Society from May 22, 1972 to 1994. Pat decided to change careers after leaving Legal Aid and went back to school for Nursing where she completed her training at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Grand Concourse Bronx, New York location.
During 1991, Pat married Burton H. Hook. From this marriage, Pat became Step-Mom to daughter's Lisa, Monica, Nicole and son Vincent.
In 2000 Pat and Burt left New York and moved to Hampton, Georgia. Then in 2004 they settled in McDonough, where they lived until passing on.
Burt had retired from New York City Police Department. Pat not wanting to stay home went back to work as a Dialysis Technician working for DCI, Inc. until retiring in 2010.
Through Pat's college years to her adult life, she remained active as a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.
She was an active member of the Golden Girls National Organization The Red Hatters and RRSM.
Pat was pre-deceased by her parents and husbands Richard and Burton.
She leaves Sister, Janice Campbell and husband James Campbell; Daughter Lisa Manigault-Beck and Son Marc Manigault, stepchildren Richard Manigault(Judy), Monica Logan(Derrick Sr.), Lisa Hook, Nicole Johnson(Frank) and Vincent Hook. Grandchildren: Alicia, Danicia and Felicia(Lisa), Marcquise, Janece, Eric, Marc Jr.(MJ) and Avery(Marc) Nicole, Joshua, Niomi and Hope(Richard) Janae, Derrick II and Marcus(Monica) Jevon Ryun, Shannon, Bryana, Elijah and Zachary(Lisa) Alana, Anaya and Mia(Nicole) Great Grandchildren: Bryson, Madison, Alyssa and Rylun, As well as a host of other relatives, dear friends and neighbors.
