Myrtle Victoria Thompson's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we all have learnt of the passing of a Virtuous woman who embodied the Christian faith and Godliness from an early age.
Myrtle passed on peacefully in her sleep in her home in Atlanta Georgia Untied States of America on the 28th of February 2019.
Mother Myrtle Thompson affectionately called (Dottie) was born on August 14, 1943 to Parents Bentley Omar Anderson and Lettice Gordon in Twickenham Fruitful Vale Portland. She lived in Hope Bay Portland throughout her childhood. She attended the Hope Bay All Age School then Titchfield High School in Port Antonio. She later moved to Port Antonio at the age of 18 where she met James Thompson whom she married on November 23, 1967.
She has five biological children, Dezrene, Donald, Neseta,and Rosemarie (Michael who proceeded her in death in 2001). Two step children Anthony and Devon). Myrtle was baptized in Jesus name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost in 1966. She was an exceptional woman, force to reckon with when it came to the gospel and her family. She attended Life Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church in Jamaica until she migrated to the United States in 1996. She never waiver when it came to her church, whether in Florida, New York, or Atlanta. In Jamaica church was seven days a week, three times on Sunday (She brought church home to the community after church).
She attended ABC Training Center for Nurse's Aide in Bronx New York as well as Ruby's Academy for Health Occupations in Hollywood Florida. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant in New York and Florida before moving to Atlanta where she lived until her passing. She will be sadly miss.
Myrtle Thompson leaves behind a lasting memory, shared with her husband James, children; Dezrene, Donald, Neseta, Rosemarie. Step sons Anthony and Devon, Her grandchildren: Karlon, Michael, Lamar, Donald (Jr.) Mesha, Dwayne, Ricardo, Tiffany, Nicol, Phydra, Dana, Ashley, Shannielle, Andrew, Miquel, Tashieka, Kaci, Leon, Daniel, Devon, Thandia, Michael, Evan, David, and Demoy. And great-grandchildren: Saheem, Kimonique, Izaiah, Tristan, Leon, Michael (MJ), Amelia, Karlie-Ann, Marcus, Kailyn, Michaela, Nolan, Landen and Lamar (Jr.), Son-in-law Baslin and Philip, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, church family and a host of other relatives and friends.
"Don't mourn for me as I am resting until that great triumphant morning when I will rise to meet my Bridegroom"!
