Micheal Critton's Obituary
A Life Well Lived. Micheal Eugene Critton was born September 1, 1956 to the parents of the late Betty Jean and Wilbur Critton in the Atlanta area. Micheal, affectionately known as “Shane”. He was the second oldest of six children who all preceded him in death. He attended the Newton County School System “The R.L Cousins High School”. Shane worked at Ray Moore Service Station in Porterdale, Ga. He also worked for Joe Heard Service Station. Then he made a significant career change and dedicated seventeen years working at Snapping Shoals. Following that, he retired as a custodian for the Newton County School System, marking the end of a dedicated and varied career of 17 years.
On March 7, 1980, Shane married Cynthia “Bay” Critton. Prior to this marriage, Shane was blessed with his only daughter, Latridra. He loved Jesus, spreading the gospel, cooking on the grill, and most importantly spending time with his family. His favorite song to sing was “Guide Me Over” and found great joy in working and doing anything he could in service to the church. He was a faithful member of Calvery Temple Baptist Church. He is proceeded in death by his siblings, William, Jeff, Larry, Terry and Jane.
He leaves to cherish his memories; wife, Cynthia Critton; one daughter, Latridra (Greg) Forte; four grandchildren, Jacqise (Jonathon) Roberts, Shane McDuffie, Sade McDuffie, and Sean McDuffie; two great grandchildren, Bryson McDuffie and Ashton McDuffie; one aunt, Katie Cole; one godson; Cedric Farley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
