With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Melissa Frances Bell, who gained her wings on February 19, 2025, at the age of 38. Melissa was a bright light in the lives of all who knew her - kindhearted, compassionate, and always ready to share a smile. Born January 6, 1987, Melissa lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication to those she cherished most. She studied at Morgan State University and was employed as a phlebotomist with Emory Healthcare. She was known for her unwavering support of family and friends, her passion for cooking, crafting, and connecting with people in an unforgettable way, and her ability to make every moment meaningful. Melissa leaves behind her two children Makinzy Young and Brayden Bell, her parents Angela and Carl Peterson, siblings Karlisha Peterson and Christopher Peterson (nieces Drew and Deion), and grandparents Henry and Mae Bell, Annie Peterson and Will Peterson. She is preceded in death by her uncle Kenneth M. Bell.
