Mrs. Mary V. Reddish was born into this life June 9, 1930, in Jasper County, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late Mr. E.B. Kier and the late Maribell Franklin. She joined in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Aubrey Reddish Sr. who preceded her in death. From this union, four children were born. Mr. Aubrey Reddish Jr. who preceded her in death, Ms. Juanita Reddish of Decatur, Ga; Mrs. Angela Reddish-Ivey (Oscar) of Calhoun, Ga; and Mr. Choice Reddish of Conyers, Ga. Mary united early with the Greenwood Baptist Church of Shady Dale, Ga. After leaving Shady Dale, she found a new church home with the Mount Welcome Missionary Baptist Church of Decatur, Ga under the leadership of Rev. Charles W. Grant and the friendship of the First Lady Mother Patsy Grant. Mary sang in the choir and was a member of the Mother's Board. Mount Welcome became the church home for her family. She was educated in the Jasper County School District and furthered her education by taking classes at Spelman College in Atlanta, Ga.
The family tree included a host of loved ones whom she enjoyed laughing and fellowshipping with. She shared many laughs and fun moments with her sister Annie Thomas and Pearl Gude - this Trio was known as "The Golden Girls". Mary also cherished having nieces: Veronica (Mary) Gude, Vickie Gude, Pamela Stegall, Jackie Malone, Marie Brown and Arlene Malone. Her branches also extended to her Aunt Mattie Davis along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Her love and desire to help others shined bright as she spent countless hours and days helping and opening her heart and home. She shared tips on gardening, cooking, life and love. Her chosen profession furthered her platform of love and care, and she was blessed to meet, connect and extend the branches of her family to the Duchon family.
After a blessed Ninety-Five Years of life, God decided it was time to give Mary her wings and have her reunite with Aubrey Sr. and Aubrey Jr. in Heaven. Mary lived hard, loved hard and fought life's battles hard, so it was time to take her rest. She departed this earthly life Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 4:29pm. She was surrounded by family as she said goodbye to this world and hello to Heaven. Her ticket was stamped, "Well Done", and God welcomed her home.
