MARY BELTON-ALEXANDER's Obituary
Mary Jeanette Belton-Alexander was called home on June 18th, 2025, due to natural causes. Close friends and family called her Jeanette or Nette for short. Jeanette was surrounded by family, friends, and so many other loved ones. Born on February 19, 1954, in Ridgeway, SC to Mary Geneva Milhouse. Jeanette was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Siblings are Bobby, Dorothy, Jesse, Clifford, Raymond, and Dion. Jeanette was the middle child out of all seven of them. She is now reunited with her beloved mother, and three of her brothers (Jesse, Clifford and Raymond). Jeanette was married to James Alexander Sr, and together they raised three beautiful children, Imani, James Jr (wife Robin), and Christopher (wife Mercedezes) and along with two daughters, Tisha and Tara. Jeanette has a total of 10 grandchildren (Briaja, Athiei, Shadai, Jazonte, Zachi, Za'rya, Zanaya, Zamora, Amirah, and Christopher Jr.) and 1 great grandson Brylon. Although Jeanette was born in Ridgeway, SC, she was raised in Washington D.C. In her mid-twenties she then moved to Grand Rapids, MI and that is where she raised her children. After that she moved to be with her mother again to Washington D.C. and then together with her sister Dorothy they moved to North Carolina. Jeanette began missing her children and grand babies so much she then decided to relocate to Georgia to be near them all again. Jeanette was not just a mother to her own children, but she was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, and she was cherished by a host of cousins as well. Jeanette touched the lives of so many different people with her gorgeous smile and her contagious laughter. Her spirit always shined bright. However, Jeanette had a sharp tongue and swift quick hard hand, but it was always with love when she used it playfully or in a disciplinary way. She did not ask for respect, she demanded it and for that she help to raise many children who still to this day honor her, respect her and love her for her unconditional love that she shared with everyone who crossed her path. Jeanette was passionate about her spirituality, music, dancing, movies, tv shows, and playing word games. Although Jeanette is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
