Marvin Earl Hicks' Obituary
Obituary "The Lord is my Shepard, I Shall Not Want" Psalm 23:1 Marvin Earl Hicks (affectionately known as "Bro~heim" by family members) was called home to Glory by the Lord on Friday August 12th, 2016 in Conyers, Georgia. Life began for Marvin in Kinston, North Carolina on November 17th 1967 when he became the youngest son to the late Lawrence (L.W.) and Tessie Hicks. Marvin was educated in the Lenoir County Public County System, North Carolina, where he graduated from Kinston High School and later attended classes at the local community college. At an early age Marvin's gift for drawing and sketching was discovered. It was recognized, admired and enjoyed by all when on exhibition with other local artist. It was also amazing to see the intricate details in his picture and the thing he saw in his portraits that the average eye could not detect. Marvin was a man of few words but he always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. He really loved his family and his friends. In his words, "I just want the best for everyone. People just need to do what is right". His smile, his words and the love he expressed "in his own way" will truly be missed but can never be forgotten. Marvin was preceded in death by his sisters, Curley Ann Fredrick and Pamela Fox. Marvin is survived by his brothers, Gary Hicks of Conyers, GA (Ada) Ezekiel Smith Jr. of Hampton, VA, (Bessie),George Fredrick of Clayton, NC (Curley), sisters, Debra Davis of Garner, NC (Zack), Catina Genright of Suffolk, VA (Kevin), long-time faithful friend Antonio Jones of Stafford, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
