Marjorie Ann Harvey's Obituary
Marjorie Anne Harvey was born to Nathaniel Saulsberry and Ella Mae Roberts Saulsberry on September 10,1943. I was the first born to that union, Sara Saulsberry my sister only lived one day, and I have always felt her presence in my life. My Father and mother decided to invite a young man, Michael Watson into their home to raise and he became a son and brother,
Baptized at an early age at Bellevue Baptist Church in Macon, GA., graduated from Ballard Hudson, worked as a cosmetologist until I joined in marriage to Luegene Washington in 1963 and moved to Philadelphia, PA., from our union was born Monica Deneen and Anthony Eugene Washington.
Began working as a teacher's aide for St. Benedict Catholic School in 1971, until I accepted a position with Glaxo Smith Kline Pharmaceutical company as the conference administrator, and later received an associate degree in Business Administration from Pierce College.
In 1999 I re-married to Edmund Harvey and decided to take early retirement from Glaxo Smith Kline and moved from Philadelphia, PA to Covington, GA in 2004. In 2005, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, faithfully fought the battle, and won, and remain cancer free.
In 2008, I accepted a position with FAMS as a receptionist for two years and decided to enjoy my retirement.
In 2005 Marjorie joined Stronghold Christian Church where she faithfully served with as a gate keeper until she fell ill in August 2021. Marjorie fought a prolonged battle of which she always put God first from day one to the end. Marjorie entered her final resting place on January 25, 2022
Marjorie leaves her children, daughter Monica Washington of Covington, GA and son, Anthony Washington of Philadelphia, PA, his daughter Beankha Mykala, Washington of Philadelphia, PA, my daughter in-law Geraldine Washington, my brother Michael Watson of Huntsville, AL, a host nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, Office of Gift Records, Emory University, 1762 Clifton Rd. NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30322." Gift acknowledgments are sent to both the donor and to the person or family the donor specifies, although the amount of the donation is not revealed
