A Time to be born: Marie Smith-Baker Was born on March 3, 1956 in Conyers, Georgia to the late Mr. James Sapp and Mrs. Mary Francis Smith.
A Time to Live: Marie was born and raised in Conyers, Ga. Where she lost her parents at an early age and joined the family of her oldest Sister Clara (Roy) Preston, where she was raised as one of the Preston children. Later in life she married the late Mr. Grady Baker, where they raised Marie's four children.
In the early 1990s, Marie joined Anointed Body of Christ Church where she dedicated her life to serving the Lord. Marie later joined her two sisters (Clara & Virginia) in fellowship as an active member of Lily of the Valley Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor T.R. Collins until her health started to fail her.
A Time to Die: On September 9th, 2021, God saw fit to call one of his angels home. She is now free and at peace with her Lord and Savior. Marie was preceded in death her parents: Mrs. Mary Francis Smith & father Mr. James Sapp; her son Dennis Smith; 3 sisters, Eddie Maud Franklin, Bessie Mae Brewer; and Virginia Smith-Jackson; 2 aunts, Betty Sue Giles and Ruby Nell Brown.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: 3 kids: Evelyn Mae Smith, Nicole Hardeman, and Michael Smith; 8 Grandkids; Marquavius, Calvin, Darnell, Shanecka, Roxie, Roscoe, Jr, Vergie, Faith, and Nehemiah. 1 Sister; Clara (Roy) Preston; 1 Brother, John L. Smith.; Best Friend Patricia A. Preston, 4 special nieces; Calandra George, Debra (Neat) Johnson, Jennifer D. Preston, Lokeithia Preston, and ; 4 Special Nephews; Jarvis M. Preston, Johnny Penn, Jr, Brian L. Preston and Shon Pittman and a host cousin's other relatives and friends.
