Lottie Maddox's Obituary
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Lottie Mae Maddox.
Mrs. Lottie Mae Maddox was born to George Durden and Fannie Smith on November 9, 1934 in Morgan County, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Newton C. Maddox Jr. She was also preceded by her brothers, Mr. Alvin Durden (Vera) and Mr. James Smith (Sarah). She was educated in the school systems of Morgan and Rockdale Counties. She met and married Newton C Maddox on December 10, 1956. From this union two children were born, Benita Fay and Donald Jerome. She joined Miller's Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. G. F. Gude where she remained a faithful member for over 70 years and where she served in various ministries until her failing health. She was employed at Sweetheart Plastic for more than 30 years, where she worked in different capacities. Mother Maddox departed this life on December 11, 2023. She leaves to carry on her legacy her loving and very devoted children, Benita (Keith) Nelson and Dr. Donald (Leah) Maddox; two granddaughters, Courtney Nelson and Erika Nelson and a host of family and friends. Mother Maddox's favorite Scripture was 2 Timothy 4:6-8.
