Linda Ruth Thompson-Townsend's Obituary
Linda Ruth Thompson Townsend born November 01, 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida to the late James Thompson and Olive Ruth Davis Thompson, she is preceded in death by her sister Susan and brothers Jim and Donald. Linda lost her son Woodie "Brian" Townsend, August 2019, after a brief illness.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years, Woodie Townsend Jr., her daughter and son-in-law Bill and Heather, and her daughter Holly, grandchildren Ginni, Daniel, Christina, Hunter, Gabriel, Abigail, Trinity, Tiffany and one great grandson Wyatt.
Linda loved spending time with her family and attending church. She was a talented artist and painter and had a beautiful singing voice. She enjoyed singing in the choir, she was frequently asked to perform for services and special events. Linda's life reflects her love of family, Jesus Christ and her amazing kind heart. Linda was smart and funny. She could always find the humor in a situation, and have us smiling and laughing through the tears. Linda had many friends both from work and church and enjoyed talking and spending time in fellowship. After nearly two years, battling advanced cancer, she went to be with Our Father God, on January 17, 2021. she will be missed very much. She is a beautiful soul.
