Lee Junior McCollum's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lee Junior McCollum. Mr. McCollum passed on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia.
Lee Junior McCollum was born in Newton County of Covington, Georgia on March 13, 1944, to the late Ms. Hester McCollum (Mother).
Lee confessed his life to Christ at the early age of 12 and joined Millers Chapel Baptist Church, in Conyers, Georgia.
Lee attended J.P. Carr School from kindergarten to 12th grade. While in school, he maintained his academics, and he served on the Senior Yearbook Committee. Lee graduated with his Senior Class in 1962.
Later on in life, Lee met and married the love of his life the intelligent and beautiful Ms. Angeline (Hudson) McCollum. From their union was born five children. Lee cherished his family to the fullest, and he was a superb provider! He imparted his children with a wealth of life principles and necessary guidance for greatness and success.
Throughout Lee's life, he established a working career with Sanders Paint Inc., in Tucker, Georgia. As he continued to seek other employment, he accepted a job with Hormel Foods in Tucker, Georgia. Lee was recognized and awarded by Homel Foods for the Best Safety Employee of the Month. Later in his career, Lee accepted a position with Bekins Moving & Storage, Inc., located in Chamblee, Georgia where he continued to work for many years. He was always seeking better jobs to support his family.
Lee was always full of love, joy, devotion, and compassion. He was patient and kind-hearted to all. His pride was dancing, he could do a dance that would make everyone laugh when he would go down to the floor, just ask anyone that knew him. He enjoyed singing, playing his guitar, designing his own jewelry, and craving his walking sticks that he made from tree branches in his yard. He also liked cooking and baking sweet potato pies. "LOL" he would say his pies will make you slap your momma, but he would caution you not to actually do it unless you wanted to get slapped back. (giggles)
