Leandris Conner's Obituary
Leandris Conner was born in Lynch, Kentucky in 1943 to Emma Pearl Conner and the late Sam Conner. He is preceded in death by his brother Ray Dell Conner and stepfather in law Norman Graves.
Lee was raised in Detroit, Michigan. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, where he was stationed in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Lee served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. While stationed there, he met his first wife Ethel Moore, with whom he raised 5 beautiful children together. To be closer to family, Lee relocated his family back to Detroit, MI. After an untimely divorce, he met his second wife Monica, who he married in 1975. During their union, they had 3 beautiful children. In 1987, Lee and Monica moved their family to Georgia, looking to get away from the snow.
Upon moving to Georgia, Lee was blessed with a job with Marta Transportation, where he was a dedicated and valued employee. In 2003, due to his battle with cancer, he chose to retire from Marta. While in retirement, Lee was able to be a committed Deacon at Bald Rock Baptist Church. Even after retirement, Lee continued to enjoy attending RV shows, taking pictures, sports cars, building model planes and train sets.
Left to cherish the memories of Lee, is his loving wife of 45 years Monica Conner. Lee also leaves his mother Emma Pearl Conner, mother in law Ida Mae Graves and father in law Clyde Mitchell. In addition his kids Terry Stephens of Wilmington NC, Sherry Hill of Hampstead NC, Leandris O'Brian Conner of Hampstead NC, Lerethia Brown of Lomita CA, Gwendolyn Conner of Hampstead NC, Terrance Conner of Hampstead NC, Christopher Conner (former Parra) of Hampton GA, Celeste Morgan (Samuel) of Covington GA, Constance Conner of Conyers GA; sisters Sammie Taylor (Mike) of Northville MI, and Authurine Brown (Maceo) of Southfield MI; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Lee also leaves a host of sister in laws, brother in laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
