LaTanya Sheri Folds' Obituary
Lady LaTanya Sheri Folds was born November 7,1973 in Decatur, Ga to the late Bishop Robert and First Lady Rosalyn Beason. She was the eldest of three children, sister Michella "Chella" Daniel and brother Robert "Bobby" Beason Jr. and she was proceeded in death by both of her parents and her brother.
LaTanya was introduced to Christ at an early age and received Him as her Lord and Savior through baptism of the Holy Ghost at the age of 12. She loved God and gave her gift of singing to the Lord. She grew up in a household whose mission was to serve God. From great- grands, grandparents, mom and dad, aunts and uncles they made God the center their world. Not only was she a "PK", but she later married and became First lady of Christ in Action Ministries, Breaking Away Ministries LBC, and The Word Works Ministries.
LaTanya was educated in the Newton County School System, and a graduate of Newton County High School class of 1992 and graduated from Dekalb Technical Institute with a degree in Fashion design and Fashion Merchandising. She participated in band, choir, art club, and various other programs.
Throughout her life, LaTanya did whatever her hands found to do. She was a special needs teacher for Newton County Schools, choir director, recording artist, First Lady, an entrepreneur, health and wellness advocate, life coach, she had a nonprofit organization, Founder of Purified Rain Productions, Legacy Life movement, Beautiful You Women's Foundation, Co-founder of Refresh Reset Women's Empowerment also known as The Restoration Experience, and the list goes on. She believed in complete and total healing - Spirit, Mind, and Body. Outside of her family her passion was empowering women and equipping them with the tools they needed to tap into their purpose to be all God called them to be.
On November 11, 1995, she married the love of her life Melvin Folds. From this union was born seven, YES SEVEN, beautiful children. 3 singles and 2 doubles- MeLya, MeLakhi, MeLyk, Majesty, Mercy, Mykel, and Myte. When you saw her in action with her little warriors, you knew that they were her greatest blessing, her assignment from God, her children and husband. She loved them beyond words with all of her heart. Melvin and LaTanya truly carried out Proverbs 22:6a "Train up a child in the way they should go" And no matter how big or small she made it happen and all off of one income. She was truly amazing.
LaTanya leaves to cherish her memories- Her husband of 30 years, Pastor Melvin Folds, Her children- MeLya, Melakhi (Mira), MeLyk, Majesty, Mercy, Mykel, and Myte, her sister Michella (Darian) Daniel, niece - Darielle Daniel, nephew Deandre Beason, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Loved ones, and friends.
Lady LaTanya was truly a designer original, a rare jewel that could never be replicated. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her unwavering faith, beautiful voice, and joy she brought to those around her. Before LaTanya went home, she had her hands lifted up, praising God. Yes, a warrior, a true praiser has gone HOME!
