Julia Mae Lowe's Obituary
Julia Mae Lowe, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend left this world suddenly on October 23, 2022, at the gentle age of 69.
She was born on July 20, 1953, to the late Enlest "Emmitt" Stovall and Valerie Lowe. A vocalist from her adolescence years, Julia attended Walton High School for Music and Cuny -Baruch College. In the late 70's Julia moved to St. Croix, USVI where she lived for 26 years. During her years living the Caribbean life, Julia established a reputation as one of St. Croix's premier jazz vocalist. In 2003, Julia left St. Croix to move to Virgina Beach, Virgina to be closer to her kids and grandkids. Continuing her music career, she joined and travelled with the Virgina Mass Choir of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church during her time in Virginia until 2008 when she moved to Georgia with her children.
Julia was a loving, caring, and nurturing woman, to know her was a blessing. She touched so many hearts in her life and established lifelong friendships throughout the years. She will be undoubtedly missed! Julia is preceded in death by her parents Enlest "Emmitt" Stovall and Valerie Lowe, her grandmother Helen Chambers. Left to cherish her memory are her loving son Shawn Jemal Robinson and daughter Kimberly Valerie Laurent; grandsons Reshawn Jemal'le Robinson, Tyrell Boyd, Mekhi Robinson, and Tashawn Robinson; granddaughters Jahkishma Julia-Marie Arnett and Jahnai Kadella Laurent; sisters Enletta Rodulfo, Rosanna Hammonds, Janice Testman, and Crystal Stovall - Pereida; son-in-law Jefferson Laurent; grandson-in-law Shaquile Arnett; close cousins Linda Wilson and Dyrel Lowe; close friends Barbara Burton and Lurene Cunningham; and a host of loved cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
Celebration of Life Services for Julia Mae Lowe will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 11 AM. These services will be recorded and streamed live.
