James Coleman Smith, Jr.'s Obituary
James Coleman Smith Jr. (JC), a lifelong resident of Georgia, was born in Monroe, Georgia, on October 12, 1954. After receiving his diploma from Carver High School, he joined the United States Army, serving with honor from October 1972 to April 1976. His military career included an overseas tour in Frankfurt, Germany, with the 1st Armored Division, as well as service at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he completed his service. As a dedicated father, James is survived by his loving wife Sarah Wise, three sons who blessed him with many wonderful grandchildren. He had an optimistic view of life, which was reflected in his joyful personality. James shared a deep love for his family, friends, and his appreciation for baseball and the beauty of the outdoors. James is preceded in death by his parents, sisters and brothers. He leaves behind cherished memories with his loving wife, Sarah Wise; his sons, Brandon Norman, Martez Johnson, and Rafael Smith; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, John (Kathy) Whitlowe, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and many loving relatives and friends. The family would also, like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the S. Ellis and Journey Hospice Care Unit for the love and support they provided during his time of need.
