Geraldine Willis Ivey's Obituary
Geraldine Willis Ivey was born on April 8, 1941 to the late Neal and Ivea Willis On May 8, 2016 (Mother's Day), she took her flight to be at rest with the lord. She was the oldest of three children. Her husband, Rev, James R. Ivey, Sr. and her brother, Bobby Neal Willis preceded her in death. Geraldine graduated from Luther Judson price High school in 1959. Geraldine later joined the Evergreen Baptist Church in which she served in many capacities including Sunday School Secretary. There she met Rev. James R. Ivey Sr. and was joined in holy matrimony on July 25, 1965. To this blessed union, four children were born, James,Jr., Valerie, Corey and Wanzie. In 1966, Geraldine began the noble position as a Domestic engineer and worked faithfully in raising nurturing her four children in the fear and admonition at the Lord. After Geraldine completed the task of rearing her children, she had a strong hand and impact in her grandchildren's lives. Geraldine also was a strong support to Reverend James R. Ivey Sr's ministry. Geraldine leaves to mourn her passing and celebrated life and legacy; her four children Reverend James Ralph Ivey, Jr. (Anita), Valerie Lashawn Ivey,Corey Granger Ivey and Wanzie D. Ivey-Boston (Nobbie), one sister, Linda Gail Willis, eleven grandchildren Angelijica, Samuel, Jawanzie, Nicholas, Wellington, Zachary, Nolani, Nobie IV, and through he bountiful blessings a host of other grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
