George Frances Gregory's Obituary
Pastor Frances Gregory transitioned from earth to glory on Sunday, February 13, 2022. She was born in Yerkwood, Alabama on January 29, 1944, to the late George Sherman Hudson Sr., and Robbie Lee Hudson. She attended Wyatt Elementary School in Burnwell, Alabama, Walker County, and graduated from Dora Colored High School as valedictorian of her class. When Frances met her true love and best friend, Tommy Donald Gregory, Sr., she knew he would be the man she would spend the rest of her life with. They were joined in holy matrimony on May 3, 1962.
The DeKalb County School District employed Frances as a bus driver for several years. However, her duties extended far beyond a simple vocation. Each day she ministered to and impacted the lives of the students she transported to and from school. With the perfect mixture of discipline and love, she was able to calm even the most challenging students.
Under the leadership of Bishop Miles E. Fowler, pastor of the Big Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Frances dedicated her life to Christ and answered her call to the ministry. She faithfully and joyfully served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent. In 2003, Frances Gregory and her husband, Apostle Tommy D. Gregory, established the Arms of Christ Tabernacle Ministries in Mansfield, Georgia. Several years later, Frances became the pastor of Arms of Christ Tabernacle Ministries. This ministry provided spiritual and community support for many years. Pastor Frances Gregory and her husband, Apostle Tommy D. Gregory, were co-overseers of C-WIT International Ministries headquartered in McDonough, Georgia for the past 22 years. Years later, Pastor Frances Gregory, along with her husband, joined and ministered at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church in Social Circle, Georgia under the leadership of Bishop William Davenport.
Pastor Frances Gregory is preceded in death by her two infant sons, sister Callie Mae Tait, brothers George Sherman Jr., Wille B. Hudson, and Robert Leon Hudson.
She is survived by daughter Stephanie (Melvin), granddaughters Alexandria and Rachel, great-granddaughter Ariel, son Tommy Jr. (Sharon), grandchildren Anastasia, Jade, Michael, Eric, and Taleshia, daughter Kimberly (Shannon), grandchildren Kyle, Sydney, Kaleb, and Shelby, son Demetrius, granddaughter Chasity, daughter Dawn (Donald), grandchildren Donald Jr., Danielle, Dana, and David, daughter Karen (Percy), grandchildren Kai and Kameron, sister Lillian Ervin and brothers George (Delores) Hudson, Michael (Rhonda) Hudson, Donald (Milan) Hudson, Larry (Gloria) Hudson, Gary (Jackie) Hudson, Fred (Elaine) Hudson, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pastor Frances Gregory was known by many names, such as Fran, a loving and devoted wife; Momma, an excellent chef in the kitchen and a phenomenal mother; Nana, a patient grandmother who provided a safe place of pure love, peace, and comfort for her grandchildren, and Mother Fran, a caring and genuine friend willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. We will all remember Frances for her sweet and kind spirit and a radiant smile! We will truly miss you Momma, but like you always said, "This is never goodbye, but always see you later!" We love you!
