FORREST DAVID REID's Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Forrest David Reid of Conyers, Georgia.
Forrest David Reid was born on March 2nd, 1947, in Centerville GA. He was the son of Squire M. Reid and Edith Reid Harvey. His siblings from this union are Squire C. Reid, (Marie), the late Daniel Reid, the late Samuel Reid, the late Lewis Reid (Martha), James Reid, the late Ernest Reid (Barbara), Anthony Reid (Wanda), Thomas Reid (Queenie), Carolyn Reid Mahaffey, (David). He was also preceded in death by five half-brothers: Willie J, Theodis, Homer J, Emmett, Warren G, and half-sister Irene Reid and Charles Thomas. Forrest grew up in the "Promise Land" community of Gwinnett County. He attended Bruce Street High School and Hooper-Renwick School. From there he went on to Tuskegee Institute for two years. It was during this time of the draft that Forrest enlisted into the Air Force Academy. He served four years. During this time he became a Staff Sergeant and a skilled mechanic. He continued his career as an automotive mechanic until he retired from Charles Evans Nissan in Conyers, GA. Forrest was a member of New Bethel A.M.E. Church for many years and his gift for singing began to flourish. He later joined Macedonia Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Deacon Board, Chairman of the Deacon Board, choir director and mentor. Forrest loved singing and praising the Lord. Forrest is survived by his wife, Barbara Reid and three daughters: Zina White (Brockston), Sharon McKnight (Colby), and Davilyn Reid. He leaves behind nine grandchildren: David White (Jennifer), Marcus White, Darius White, Michael White, Ayanna Reid, Colby-James McKnight, Tyler-Xavier McKnight, Zachary-Daniel McKnight and Arianna Reid. He also has two great grandchildren: Benjamin White and Camila White. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Ruby Camp as well as a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
