Emma Kate Worthery's Obituary
Emma "Kate" Worthery was born on 17 February 1934, to the late Robert Browning and Johnnie Mae Johnson-Smith in Morgan County, Georgia. Emma was the second oldest of in five children: Della Heard, Willie Johnson, Collins Johnson, Otis Smith Jr., and Mary Lizzie Cornwell which proceeded her in death.
Kate attended school in Morgan County, Ga. She moved to Atlanta, Ga., and later moved to Cleveland, Ohio. She returned to Conyers, GA., in 1986 where she spent the best years of her life. Emma worked at Sweetheart Plastics until retirement.
Kate was very devoted to her family. She loved life and loved her "babies." She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and gardening. But most of all, she enjoyed taking everyone, even when she was the one that needed to be taken care of the most.
Kate was called to take rightful place beside the Father and His Son on 10 September 2021 surrounded by her family. She leaves to cherish three loving brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Smith (Brenda), Mr. and Mrs. Oscar James Smith (Mary), and Mr. Grady Smith. Three sisters, Ms. Beverly Heard, Ms. Vickie Jefferson, and Ms. Mammie Jackson. Her "Special" sister/ cousin Ms. Lottie Mae Maddox. Two devoted Goddaughters, Cathy Morgan and Nicole Worthey. Kate also leaves a host of adoring nieces, nephews, and friends.
