It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Edward Copeland on 3/19/24.
Edward Copeland was born on August 21,1958 in Jesup, Georgia to Winnie Wright-Young and Richard Copeland Jr. Edward attended public school in Atlanta, Georgia. During his high school years, Edward was active in baseball, basketball, track and football, showcasing his passion for sports and determination. Edward was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather.
He was a graduate of Carver High School in Atlanta, Georgia, proudly belonging to the Class of 1976. Edward's dedication extended beyond academics; he also served his country with honor, spending four years in the United States Army before receiving a honorable discharge.
Edward lived a life filled with passion and love. He had a deep appreciation for sports, finding joy in every game and match. His love for music was evident in his soulful singing, which touched the hearts of those around him. Edward was also an avid reader, finding solace and knowledge in the pages of books.
Above all else, Edward cherished his family. His daughter and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he found immense happiness in their presence.
Edward's legacy of love, passion, and devotion to his family will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. He was a member at Church of God, of the 1st born under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy A. Copeland.
Edward leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Winnie Wright-Young; Daughter, Linearean Copeland-Gamble (Willie Gamble Jr.); five step-children; his grandson, Lovell Gamble; grand-daughters Lauryn Gamble and Logan Gamble; brothers, Jimmy A. Copeland (Karen), Gary Wright; sisters, Beverly Castleberry (Samuel), Melinda Pringle (Kenneth), Kimberly Copeland; brothers, Lorenzo Copeland (Sharon), Errol Copeland (Leatha), Richard Copeland (Jacqueline), Robert Copeland and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. Special Nephews, Duane and Johnathan Copeland. His father, Richard Copeland Jr. proceeded him in death.
