Doreen Yvonne Francis' Obituary
It was early morning on June 18, 2020 that Doreen Y. Francis earthly journey ended and departed this life to enter her eternal rest
Doreen was born on January 24, 1947 in Kingston, Jamaica to the late Emma Parkinson. Her father was the late George Williams.
Doreen graduated high school and college in Kingston, Jamaica, soon after she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she taught short hand typing and script.
Doreen loved to cook and bake. She would often take ceramic classes, she enjoyed sewing and would sometimes make her own dresses.
In New York, Doreen met and married her husband Samuel Francis, from that union a son Allan was born, soon after Doreen and her family relocated to Long Island, NY, where she worked at Deer Park Technical School for a few years. Doreen was a woman of God and worshiped as a member of the First Baptist Church.
Doreen loved her family and enjoyed life. She loved to laugh and was very giving to others. She would often host family gatherings and enjoyed seeing her family together.
Doreen is proceeded in death by her sister Beverly Williams and her brother Raymond Wint.
She leaves to cherish memories; her loving husband, Samuel Francis, one son Allan (Nikia) Francis, two grandchildren Jordyn and Aubrey Francis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
