Darryl Eugene Davis' Obituary
Darryl Eugene Davis affectionately known to many as "Devil Dogg" was born to Shirley Mae Davis on June 7, 1955, in Norfolk, VA, on September 23, 2021, he gained his wings in Atlanta, GA. Darryl was raised by his mother and stepfather John Fuller in Paterson, NJ. Darryl attended the famed Eastside High where he graduated with Honors under the tutelage of Principal Joe Clark. Following high school Darryl enlisted in the United States Navy for a brief period of time where he would receive an Honorable Discharge. After leaving the Navy Darryl attended Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ where he received an Associate's Degree in Business Administration. As a young man Darryl attended Greater Bethel of Our Lord Jesus Christ, where he was also baptized.
Darryl called quite a few places home including Washington D.C., where he met and married Matilda Spio-Garbrah. Their union resulted in the birth of two beautiful daughters Frances and Shirley. He also spent time in Indiana before settling down in his final resting place of Decatur, GA just outside of Atlanta, GA with Monique and her sons Armand and Brandon. Darryl was a man of many skills, he worked as an Iron Worker for more than 20 years in Washington D.C. and Atlanta, he also worked for the Church of the Living God, Atlanta for several years providing building maintenance, driving the church van and even did handy man work for many of the members. Darryl retired from the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, GA as part of the Building Services Team in July 2020. Darryl spent his retirement days cooking with his grandson Armand and fishing with his neighbor Dave. He also helped others in his community by sharing information with them about resources in the community and giving them rides to doctor's appointments, the grocery stores and local food banks.
Darryl leaves to cherish his memory three daughters Monique Mosley-Davis of Decatur, GA, Frances Davis of Capital Heights, MD, and Adjoa Beal (Michael) of Silver Spring, MD, four sons Aaron Mosley of Stockbridge, GA, Darryl Lee, Andre Lee, and Nathaniel Lee all of Englewood, NJ. He also leaves behind twenty grandchildren, three loving sisters Velgean W. Daniel (Darryl) of South Bend, IN, Rosa Steward (Jermaine) of Paterson, NJ, and Janita Taylor (Ricky) of Tinton Falls, NJ and life-long family friend Edna Mosley of Sandy Springs, GA. Darryl is preceded in death by his parents Shirley Williams (Benjamin) of Midlothian, VA and John W. Fuller (Margaret) of South Bend, IN, grandmother Rosa Temple Davis of Paterson, NJ, grandmother Amie Rush Ellis of Fort Lauderdale, grandfather Frank Ellis of Fort Lauderdale, uncle Charlie Fuller (Velma) of Fort Lauderdale, FL and niece Tyisha Adams of Paterson, NJ, 12 nieces and nephews, a host great-nieces and nephews, 9 great-great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
