Daniel Wade Patrick's Obituary
Daniel Wade Patrick was born in 1956 to David Kenneth and Lucille Patrick. His childhood was filled with misadventures alongside his two brothers, Dennis and David, and he spent many weekends visiting his dearly loved grandparents, David Lucas and Emma Nell Patrick (Gramps and Nanny). After a young adulthood worthy of tall tales, Daniel settled into a career as a machinist and inspector; his work was in accuracy and understanding parts of the whole. He devoted his life to his family and his work.
Daniel was a storyteller, a maker, a treasure hunter, a cowboy, Peter Pan, Superman, a poet, an artist, a music lover, a helper, a genuine soul.
He witnessed miracles in the mundane; He walked with memories and angels; He seemed sometimes to peer beyond the veil at the universe's mysteries; He was warmth, a jean jacket, the smell of the machine shop, powerful music enveloping a moment in time -- He was the mountain, the rock, upon which he raised his family.
He was the kindest, strongest, best man you could have the fortune to know.
He had so much love, and he gave it freely, willingly, endlessly. In everything he did, there was love.
Daniel is survived by his wife--his true love of 32 beautiful, treasured years--Christina Patrick; his children, Katherine and David; his brothers, Dennis and David; and a wealth of friends and family.
Daniel was a rare soul whose passing is deeply, endlessly mourned. He will be forever loved and missed by those who knew him.
He leaves behind a kingdom. A legacy. An amazing story.
In the wake of COVID-19, we will be unable to have a proper memorial for Daniel until a later date, when we feel it is safe for everyone to gather and celebrate his beautiful, amazing life together. He will be laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery, in Griffin, GA, next to Gramps and Nanny. In lieu of flowers, we ask that loved ones please write and share their memories and photos of Daniel to be collected and kept by the family.
