Curtis Reed's Obituary
Mr. Curtis Reed was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Mencer Raymond, Sr (Alberta Nancy Stroud) Reed, on August 21, 1941. He was born in Covington, Ga, where he grew up and attended school. In 1960, he wed his beautiful wife, Mrs. Elizabeth "Meat" Hurst Reed, who preceded him in death.
Curtis was a member of Richards Chapel UMC, and a long-time employee/ Superintendent of Honey Creek Golf Course until his retirement. His most important and prized role was that of a family man; a husband, a father, a grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a man's man, and loved fishing, hunting, and running dogs.
He was also preceded in death by two children: Mr. Curtis Reed, Jr., and Mr. Darrell Reed; siblings: Walter Reed, Sr., and Betty Ann Dennis.
He leaves to cherish his life in memories, three children: Mr. & Mrs. Morris (Connie) Reed, Mr. & Mrs. Gerald (Tammy) Johnson, and Ms. Flora Billings; three brothers: Mencer Reed, Jr., Leroy Reed, and Thomas J. Reed, the late Willie Lewis (Louise) Martin, late walter James (Rose) Reed; three sisters: Minnie Kate Austin, Margaret Hurst, and Mary Hammonds; seven grandchildren: Valente' Hill, Bricola Reed, Miche'lle' Hill, DeMorris Reed, Maurice Williams, Tamara Russell, and Moriah Reed; three great-grandchildren: Tahje Heard, Chance Lackey, Lelani Ducasse; three sister- in - laws: Lucy Reed, Joann Reed, Grace Reed, Allene Hurst and a host of other relatives, and friends.
