Clyde Leroy Johnson's Obituary
On December 16th, 2017, Mr. Clyde Leroy Johnson was called home to be with the lord. November 16, 1938 Clyde L. Johnson was born to the late John M. Johnson and Susie Mae Zellars in Lincolnton, GA. He was educated in the Lincoln County Public School System. He confessed Christ at an early age at Ebenezer Baptist Church. He later moved to Atlanta, GA and was united in holy matrimony to Ophelia Tate in 1964, out of this union two loving children were born. Clyde was employed with Georgia Pacific for over forty years. His hobbies included gardening, playing the Georgia lottery, walking, and being a devoted babysitter. He loved the children. Clyde Johnson was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was the fifth of seven children. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother; George Johnson of Lincolnton, GA, sisters; Bessie Blackwell of Boston, MA, and Bernice Thomas of Atmore, AL. Clyde L. Johnson of Covington, GA leaves to cherish his sweet memories a loving and devoted wife of fifty three years Ophelia Johnson; two caring daughters Audrey Elder & Cynthia Johnson; two beautiful granddaughters Asheley Dubose & Destinee Johnson; one brother & best friend Joe L. Johnson; one loving sister Ida H. Johnson; one adopted daughter Doris Williams; three brothers in law Thomas Tate ( Lois ), Howard Tate Jr.( Sara ),J.B Beard; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
