Bernadette Thibodeaux's Obituary
Bernadette Clark Thibodeaux was born Tuesday October 23, 1956. Bernadette peacefully departed this life into the arms of her Savior on April 3, 2020 at Emory University Hospital.
She was the seventh child born to the late Elzina Matthews and Ulysses Joseph. She was adopted and raised in love by the late Edna Mae Clark.
She was a resident of Baton Rouge, La for 50 years where she attended school. Afterwards she relocated to Atlanta, Ga where she worked for Georgia Department of Corrections for 13 years after which she retired and moved to Albany, Ga.
She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age; she loved the Lord and loved to worship. Her beautiful spirit ministered to people wherever she went. She was a faithful member of Rhema International Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Scott T. Sanders.
Bernadette was married to the late Willie Jackson and of this union four children were born. She later married Morris C. Thibodeaux in 1995.
Bernadette leaves behind to cherish her memories; a devoted son Joseph Jackson of Baton Rouge, La, 3 loving daughters Shon'ta Haile of Conyers, Ga, Christy and Amber Jackson of Albany, Ga; Fourteen grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren; her siblings Bernice(Charles)Gallien of Lake Charles, La, Jeanette Damon of Jeanerette, La, Sanders(Shirley)Sorrell of Houston, Tx, Gilord(Inez)Sorrell of Humble, Tx, Alex(Carolyn)Matthews of Dalllas, Tx; a host of nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends who loved and will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mothers, Elzina Matthews and Edna Mae Clark, her father Ulysses Joseph. Her first husband Willie Jackson, 3 sisters, Esilee Simpson, Irma Jean Lewis, and Shirley Wesley.
