Ayana Chaney's Obituary
Ayana Chaney, 28, passed away unexpectedly on February 14th, 2021 at Emory University Hospital.
Ayana was born on June 24th, 1992 along with her twin sister Iman to Rusher and Helen (Mathais) Chaney joining their older sister Naima. She attended Clayton State University where she received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and received her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. Upon graduating she began her career in counseling individuals suffering from addiction. Ayana had a passion for helping people and dreamed to one day open her own private practice.
Ayana enjoyed reading, spending time with her sisters, shopping (specifically Bath and Body Works), and watching classic black shows such as Living Single and The Fresh Prince. Ayana was a leader who took charge in any challenging situation that came her way. She never took no for an answer, and was determined to accomplish anything she put her mind to.
Ayana leaves to cherish her loving memory her parents Rusher Lamar Chaney and Helen (Mathais) Chaney, her older sister Naima (Jahbarhi) Watson, her twin sister Iman Chaney, her niece Cadence Watson, nephew Malachi Watson and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousin
