Almenthia Ranise Williams-Holden's Obituary
Mrs. Almenthia Ranise Holden, affectionately known as "Ranise," was born on October 17, 1953, to the late Russell Allen, Sr. and Pinkola Mitchell. On Saturday, April 29th, 2023, she departed her earthly home for her heavenly home.
She received her diploma from Rockdale County High School. She studied cosmetology at Dekalb Technical College and obtained her cosmetology license from the state of Georgia.
Ranise wed Mr. Mark Holden on January 1, 1992, and the couple raised one son together. Ranise became a member of Pleasant Hill C.M.E Church at an early age. She faithfully served as a stewardess and choir member until her health began to decline.
Ranise was a gentle and kind person. She enjoyed shopping, dining out, going to casinos, and spending time with her family and friends. Ranise worked at Rockdale EOA (Economic Opportunity Atlanta) for many years. She helped low-income families and kids find housing and employment until Rockdale EOA closed. Ranise continued to serve her community through her employment at the Olivia Haydel Senior Center. She served as a driver, receptionist, and friend to many. Ranise adored her "senior citizens" and belonged to the "Legendary Steppers." Ranise also worked as a skilled hair stylist. She retired in 2016.
Ranise leaves to cherish her memories: her loving and devoted husband, Mr. Mark Holden, one loving and devoted son, Mr. Antwain Williams (Jill), four brothers, Mr. Harbonious Allen (Conyers), Mr. Darry Allen (Detroit), Mr. Russell Allen, Jr. (Detroit), Mr. Christophe Mitchell (Conyers), and Mr. John Allen (Detroit); three grandchildren, Brooke Jordan, Teirah Williams, and Halleigh D'Amico (Krista); two sisters-in-law; Mrs. Mary Moore (Gary) and Ms. Marlene Holden; six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
