Allison Joyce Holmes' Obituary
Allison Aitchison Holmes was born in San Diego, Ca on January 7, 1975. She was a childhood resident of Cross Plains, TX where she graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1993. She went on to receive her BS in Religious Studies from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX in 1997.
Allison is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Holmes; Children: Cornelius James and Gracie Denise; Mother: Jan Aitchison; Father: Garry (Cheri) Jervis; Brothers: Ryan (Jessica) Aitchison and Garry (Dari) Jervis Jr; Sisters: Jeri Hinkle, Jennifer (Denver) Gray, Shannon (Matt) Sewell; Christi (Joey) Paglia; Brother-in-Law: Dale (Sabrina) Holmes; Sister-in-Law: Sophia Lewis and Felicia (Lee) Smith; Sister in Love: Shalisha Winslow; Church son: Randal Josaphat; and countless cousins, nieces and nephews.
Allison confessed her faith in Christ at a very early age and became a member of Cross Plains Baptist Church. She was active in this ministry during her school years. The youth and missions were her true passion. As she traveled throughout her young adult life she continued to be devoted to missions. In 2003, family led Allison to the Atlanta area where she would later meet her future husband, Marvin.
In 2007, they were united in marriage and began serving Christ together finding their church home at Eastside Baptist Church, Stockbridge Ga. Not knowing it at the time, this church and their pastor, Dr. Bob Halstead Jr, would be one of the biggest blessings of their lives. Allison & Marvin had an immeasurable impact in their community around them. She enjoyed serving in ministries such as Eastside Baptist Church ladies ministry and Tribulation trail.
In 2019, Allison's compassion and endearing nature lead her and Marvin to become foster parents. Two years later, she hand-picked her two heartbeats, CJ and Gracie, completing her beautiful family. At this point, her desire was to show them unwavering and unconditional love.
On March 27, 2023, Allison was called by Jesus to come home. Although it hurts each of us in a way that is indescribable, her friends and family will cherish the time shared with her. She will be missed by many. Her love, generosity, eagerness to spread the word of Jesus will leave a void in numerous lives. The impact she had will only be fully known in the years to come.
